Graduate Project Engineer

In this video, we’ll explore the role of a Graduate Project Engineer at DOF, a leader in oil, gas, and renewable energy projects. As a Graduate Project Engineer, you’ll gain exposure to diverse engineering tasks, including decommissioning, installation, and cable repair. Through structured placements and direct project involvement, you’ll rotate across departments such as procurement, drafting, and cost control, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

Key responsibilities include offshore experience, where you will spend time offshore to understand real-world engineering applications and operations. You will rotate through various departments, including procurement, where you will work with clients and subcontractors, process equipment orders, and manage offshore logistics; drafting, where you will assist with technical drawings, deck layouts, and keyside logistics; and cost control, where you will collaborate with project controllers to track costs and revenue. You will also focus on communication and collaboration, working closely with engineers, shift supervisors, and various teams to ensure seamless project execution. Adaptation and learning are crucial, as you will gain knowledge across mechanical, chemical, structural, and naval engineering disciplines while adjusting to dynamic offshore and office environments. Lastly, you will participate in project execution, getting involved in planning, execution, and post-project analysis to understand full project cycles, from design to offshore implementation.

A degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, naval architecture, structural engineering, or related fields) is highly recommended. Industry experience in drafting, engineering, or similar fields can be beneficial for those without a formal degree.
