As an Offshore Chemist, your key responsibilities will include monitoring oil, water, and gas separation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the integrity of pipelines and equipment. You’ll be involved in analyzing water quality, injecting chemicals to prevent corrosion and bacteria buildup, and conducting lab work on liquid and gas samples to guarantee the accuracy of analysis. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for training new operators and refining procedures for the platform’s chemical processes.
Key responsibilities include oil separation monitoring, water chemistry analysis, chemical maintenance, conducting lab tests, operating lab equipment, training operators, and developing procedures for the platform. A background in Chemistry, particularly oil chemistry or forensic sciences, is ideal. Alternatively, candidates can pursue hands-on roles with an HNC in Applied Sciences or an apprenticeship, followed by offshore experience.
Qualifications include a background in Chemistry, with higher education in oil chemistry or forensic sciences, or alternative pathways such as an HNC or apprenticeship in Applied Sciences.
